"Ratchildren" of Pakistan

In in Pakistan there are some unusual holy individuals.They are called "rat people" because of their looks.They are revered as "God's children" by most citizens in Pakistan. But sadly the "children of God" are often treated badly , even though they are believed to be connected with divine powers.

Many of them are sold by their families to street-gangs which in turn abuses the legend of the "rat children" and peoples goodwill. and put them to work in the streets as beggars. A pretty prosperous business it seems, cause this is a growing problem and these blessed individuals are traded and sold as cattle and even sometimes kidnapped from their homes
 

"God's children" or "rat people" seems to be far from blessed cause in reality they are really suffering from a condition known as microcephaly. And with this it means that their brain are smaller then that of a normal person. Other defects they are suffering from are very small foreheads and abnormally big noses. making the face resemble that of a rat. Historically they have been roaming  the streets and villages of Pakistan for a long time, and have for the most part enjoyed somewhat special status in society and been treated with respect. But as modern medicine now have revealed the main reason for the high concentration of people suffering from this condition in Pakistan namely inbreeding. they have lost some of that holiness. but Pakistan is a country under development so there is still plenty of people believing the myth of "gods children" 







Knowing the truth of the condition.The moneymaking potential of this myth  was soon spotted by corrupt individuals,and even their own family members can´t resist making a profit out of it. "Gods children" are now being exploited in  holy places, streets and buses throughout the country. They are often accompanied and monitored by family members or their criminal "owners". With the knowledge of the condition and how it is often passed on to the children if two individuals with the condition have a child the child more then often end up with the same condition,a fact that are being exploited by ruthless people
