Human Echolocation

left:Daniel Kish with a student right:Ben Underwood

You know how it´s a say humans have a sixth sense? some claim to be clairvoyant others have contact with the "other side" ghosts, spirits, these are all debated and doubted and can´t really be proofed, it´s just a matter of choosing to believe or not.

Well here is the real deal! documented in blind people locating their way around by echolocation technique. you find the same in bats and dolphins. dolphins has even shown the ability to echo locate trough materials in study´s, recreating the shape of an object hidden in a box like a very sophisticated sonar like the ones used by the navy. like an ex-ray how they do this is far from being explained.

Human echo location has been known since the 50s when it was first mentioned in the media, but was met with skepticism and almost viewed like something out of the occult. in recent time it has got more attention and serious study´s are in progress.
there are several blind people practicing echolocation that has been noticed for this ability most well known is Daniel Kish who also run a sort of non profit "school" for young blind people trying to teach them how to echo-locate.
another well known was Ben Underwood later one of Daniels students, both participated in a TV documentary about their ability.

Diagnosed with retinal cancer at the age of 2 Ben Underwood had his eyes removed at the age of 3 and at the age of 5 he discovered he could find his way around by making "clicking sounds" Ben refined the ability to the extent that he was able to play basketball and roller skate in the streets. he also found his way to school on his own.unfortunately Ben has since passed away when the cancer came back.

This "sixth sense" is all well documented and acknowledged by doctors and scientists. there are much video material documenting this. what does this tell us? well maybe we as humans have far more potential and have senses waiting to be rediscovered, old folk lore and mythology is full of story's of people with strange abilities maybe there are more truth in it then we can imagine?
